Genelia Deshmukh Is Making Her Acting Comeback After 10 Years In Hubby Riteish’s Directorial Debut. We Can’t Contain Our Excitement!
Bollywood actress Genelia Deshmukh has been MIA from the silver screen ever since her marriage to Riteish Deshmukh in 2012. While we have seen her cameo appearances here and there and spotted her at various events, and her Instagram presence is LIT AF, she did not get back to acting until now! Yes, you read that right. Genelia Deshmukh is all set to make her acting come back with a Marathi film titled Ved. Interestingly, her husband Riteish Deshmukh will also be making his directorial debut with this film.
Taking to Instagram, the actress confirmed her return with this new project. While she did not divulge many details about the film, she did share a BTS video from the set as well as the poster of the film. The Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na actress also revealed that while she has been a part of films of many different languages, she always yearned to do a Marathi film. Genelia Deshmukh further added that she finally found the perfect script and will be returning to acting after a 10-year long sabbatical. The actress is also thrilled that hubby Riteish Deshmukh will be donning the hat of the director for this film.

“Have been blessed to be part of movies in so many languages and receive love and respect from all. Being born in Maharashtra, my heart yearned to do a film in Marathi for years and was hoping there would be a script where I could just say this is it. And then this happened – My first Marathi film, me coming back to acting after 10 long years and being part of a dream where my husband Riteish Deshmukh directs for the first time and I get to share space with a beautiful Co- Actor Jiya Shankar who gets introduced under our production house MFC,” said Genelia Deshmukh.
Both Genelia and Riteish urged their followers to extend their warm wishes and blessings for their upcoming film. “I would humbly request loads of blessings from each one of you because films are always a journey and we would love if you could be on this journey with us.. वेड (Madness),” read the Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya actress’ post.

On the other hand, Riteish Deshmukh also shared the poster of the film with a caption that read, “After being in front of the camera for 20 years, I take a big leap to stand behind it for the first time.
