Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year actor and Bigg Boss 7 winner Gauahar Khan is known to speak her mind but where does she get that from? The actress opened up and spoke about her upbringing, thoughts on feminism and being discriminated against in the film industry in a recent interaction with Hauterrfly in episode 48 of The Male Feminist ft. Siddhaarth Aalambayan. The actress even recalled being told that she does not have a face to make it to Hindi cinema.
When asked if she has ever had a casting couch experience, Gauahar Khan denied experiencing anything like that however she did open up about being discriminated against due to her looks and it’s rather racist! The Bigg Boss 7 winner said, “A lot of times people have judged me for the way looked saying that aap Hindi films nahi kar sakengi, aapka Hindi film ka face nahi hai. What they meant was that I have small eyes and I look more North Eastern and more Japanese or more Asian looking. And I was like ‘Haan, thik hai. Watch me’!”

It’s shocking how the actress was sidelined and told that she is not meant for Hindi films due to her features. However, the actress responded to the incident by appearing in films like Ishaqzaade, Begum Jaan and more. In fact, Gauahar Khan also revealed that she was asked to not take up any roles where she is not playing the love interest of a male actor but that did not stop the actress from starring in Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year opposite Ranbir Kapoor and no, she didn’t play his romantic interest.
