Gangubai Kathiawadi Is Alia Bhatt’s 3rd Movie To Be Screened At Berlin International Film Festival. It Will Have 5 Screenings
I will say this when I first saw Student Of The Year, I was disappointed. From the lead actors to the story, there was hardly anything that gripped me. Which is why I thought that the lead actors of the movie would not have a very long career ahead of them. But oh-boy was I wrong! Today, one of them is my all-time favourite actor. Yep, I’m talking about Alia Bhatt. In the last 10years, that she has been in the film industry, her fans and I have seen her grow as a person and an exceptional actress. Don’t believe me? Well, let me prove it to you. Gangubai Kathiawadi that is all set to be screened at the 72nd Berlinale International Film Festival is her 3rd movie that has been nominated so far – after Highway in 2014 and Gully Boy in 2019.

Yep, after finishing a decade in the film industry, Alia Bhatt has had 3 movies under her belt that have been nominated and screened at the Berlinale International Film Festival. The first was Highway (2014), the second was Gully Boy (2019), and now it is Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022). And you know what’s interesting? That all these three movies are February releases.

Both the movies – Highway and Gully Boy – have had a significant impact on the actress’ career. In fact, I would even go on to say that these two movies somewhere defined Alia Bhatt as an actor as well. And now, with Gangubai Kathiawadi also set to be screened at the 72nd Berlinale International Film Festival, only time will tell whether this project also becomes a defining one for her.

As per reports, the Berlinale International Film Festival that will be held between February 10th, 2022, and February 20th, 2022, will have multiple screenings of Gangubai Kathiawadi. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie starring Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn will have two screenings on February 16th – out of which one of them will be a world premiere. And a screening will also take place on February 17th, 19th, and 20th. Gangubai Kathiawadi is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s first film ever to debut at the prestigious film festival.

The way the teaser and trailer have been received by the audience it seems as though this movie will also become a huge success – critically as well as commercially. But it will be only after February 25th, 2022 that the result is out since that’s when the movie is set to release.
