As we all know, 2022 was not a good year for Bollywood movies. Except for a few films, many multi-starrer and big-budget movies failed to impress the audience. But you know, life is all about falling down seven times and getting up eight. And that’s the reason why we are so excited about all the films that are going to release in theatres and on OTT platforms in the year 2023. From Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Pathaan to Priyanka Chopra and Sam Heughan’s Love Again, here are some of our most anticipated films of 2023.
1. Pathaan
Pathaan starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham is an action thriller film directed by Siddharth Anand. It will release in cinemas on January 25.
2. Jawan
Jawan starring Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara is written and directed by Atlee Kumar. The film also features Sanya Malhotra and Vijay Sethupathi, it is scheduled to release on June 2, 2023.
3. Tiger 3
Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s action-packed film Tiger 3 will premiere on November 10. Directed Maneesh Sharma, it also features Emraan Hashmi, Ridhi Dogra, and Vishal Jethwa.
4. Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani
Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt is directed by Karan Johar. Featuring Dharmendra, Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan in pivotal roles, the film will hit the theatres on April 28 this year.
5. Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar
Shraddha Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor’s upcoming film Tu Jhooti Main Makkaar is going to release in theatres on March 8, 2023. The film is directed by Luv Ranjan.
6. Kuttey
Kuttey featuring Arjun Kapoor, Tabu, Konkona Sen Sharma, Radhika Madan, Kumud Mishra, and Naseeruddin Shah marks the directorial debut of Vishal Bhardwaj’s son Aasmaan Bhardwaj. The film is all set to release in cinemas on January 13.
7. Mission Majnu
Sidharth Malhotra is all set to star in another patriotic film titled Mission Majnu. Helmed by Shantanu Bagchi, it also features Rashmika Mandanna, Bhumika Chawla, Sharib Hashmi, and Parmeet Sethi in important roles. The film will release in cinemas on January 19.
8. Heart of Stone
Directed by Tom Harper, Heart of Stone starring Gal Gadot, Alia Bhatt, and Jamie Dornan is a spy action thriller film. It is expected to premiere on Netflix this year.
9. Love Again
Love Again starring Priyanka Chopra, Sam Heughan, Russell Tovey, Omid Djalili, Celia Imrie, and Celine Dion is directed by Jim Strouse. It is all set to premiere on May 12, 2023.

10. Jee Le Zaraa
Jee Le Zaraa is a road trip movie starring Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Directed by Farhan Akhtar, it is expected to release this year.
11. Chakda ‘Xpress
Chakda ‘Xpress starring Anushka Sharma is based on the life of cricket player Jhulan Goswami. Directed by Prosit Roy, the film will release in 2023 on Netflix.
12. The Archies
Directed by Zoya Akhtar, The Archies is an Indian adaptation of the popular Archies Comics series and stars Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda, Vadang Raina, Yuvraj Menda, and Dot. It will release on Netflix this year.
13. Ponniyin Selvan 2
Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan 2 starring Vikram and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will hit the theatres worldwide on April 28, 2023. Based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s 1955 Tamil novel of the same name, the film also stars Karthi, Trisha Krishnan, Prakash Raj, Jayaram, Jayam Ravi, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Aishwarya Lekshmi, among others.
14. Animal
Animal starring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna is a psychological thriller. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, it also features Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, and Tripti Dimri. The film is slated for a worldwide release theatrically on August 11 in five languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
15. Dunki
Another film that is expected to release in 2023 is Dunki. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film stars Taapsee Pannu and Shah Rukh Khan.
16. Shehzada
Shehzada starring Kriti Sanon and Kartik Aaryan is helmed by Rohit Dhawan. Releasing on February 10, the film also stars Manisha Koirala, Paresh Rawal, Shalini Kapoor, and others.
17. Bawaal
Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor will star together in the film Bawaal which is directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The big-budget film will hit screens on April 7.

18. Kho Gaye Hum Kahan
Kho Gaye Hum Kahan marks the directorial debut of Arjun Varain Singh. Starring Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Gourav Adarsh, the film is scheduled to release in 2023.
Starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, Merry Christmas is helmed by Sriram Raghavan and will be released in Hindi and Tamil this year. The psychological thriller film also features Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Tinnu Anand, and Pratima Kannan in pivotal roles.

20. Sam Bahadur
Yes, Vicky Kaushal is back with another patriotic film. Director by Meghna Gulzar, Sam Bahadur is based on the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw who is one of India’s greatest war heroes. The film also features Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Edward Sonnenblick, and Manoj Bajpayee. It will hit the theatres on December 1, 2023.
