Recently, on the latest episode of Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist, actor and director Tisca Chopra shed her thoughts about women who broke norms in the film industry to make a path for others. She mentioned two popular names from the industry- Neena Gupta and Dimple Kapadia.

What Did Tisca Chopra Say?
Taare Zameen Pe star Tisca Chopra spoke about the women who broke norms and stereotypes in the film industry. During her conversation with Sidhaarth Aalambayan on The Male Feminist, the actress said, “I think Neena Gupta and Dimple Kapadia, the kind of work they have done, I don’t think they that they have taken away the burden of ageing from an entire generation. They don’t have dates, they are so highly busy.”

Tisca Chopra further shed light on the kind of stereotypes that existed in the film industry back in the day. She said, “Initially when I came to Mumbai, the first script that I got, I asked them, where is my scene? And they told me, ma’am you have four songs in the film. And that I will look all sexy. The idea is that female provides the titillation aspect.” Tisca Chopra also spoke about her experience on the casting couch and that she was a ‘no bullshit’ kind of a person in dealing with it. Tisca Chopra also suggested to young girls aspiring to become actresses. She said,”Max kya hoga, you will lose opportunities, people will bad mouth you and say she is difficult to work with, but that happens anyway. People will say what they want to.”
