Exclusive: THIS Is How Nia Sharma’s Mother Reacts When She Has Period Talk With Her Brother!

It has become the need of the hour to normalise talking about periods. Most of our fathers and grandfathers came from very orthodox families where menstruation was not talked about as it was considered taboo and a topic of discussion for women. But today, it is supremely important to educate your younger and older brothers about periods so that they know what a woman’s body undergoes during this time, and also because if need be, they can be helpful to the women in their lives without feeling awkward about it. In the latest episode of The Male Feminist, Nia Sharma spoke about how she got comfortable with talking about her cramps with her brother and that her mother would not like it.

In a conversation with Siddharth Aalambayan on the latest episode of The Male Feminist, Nia Sharma opened up about having period conversations with her brother, Vinay Sharma. “I am from a Brahmin family, and we did not openly talk about periods at home,” says Nia Sharma. She added that her mother surely explained to her what menstruation was but there was never a conversation about it at home.

But it is her mother who tells her to not share these things with her brother, and that she is still somewhat not okay with this. “But then we are in a culture like that and I talk to my brother about this and he also understands me,” adds Nia Sharma.
