Govinda and Sunita Ahuja’s marriage has been going through a rough patch lately. The duo is making headlines every day for their statements against each other; earlier reports also suggested a possible divorce. Sunita Ahuja was recently spotted at a court in Mumbai, but she did not disclose the reason behind her visit. However, Hauterrfly has exclusively learned that she has withdrawn her divorce plea, so it looks like the couple has buried the hatchet. Read on.

Sunita Ahuja Withdraws Divorce Plea With Govinda

Sunita Ahuja was recently spotted at the Family Court in Bandra, Mumbai. She was accompanied by her son. In a conversation with the paparazzi, she refrained from sharing details of her visit. Hauterrfly has exclusively learned that the actor was scheduled to appear in the court for her divorce case filed in December 2024. We have also learned that she has withdrawn the plea, and it was uncontested, after which the Bandra Family Court disposed of the case.

For the unversed, after Sunita Ahuja filed for divorce from Govinda, the actor was summoned to appear before the court twice. A show-cause notice was also issued for the same. The couple was sent for court-mandated counselling, and the counsellor submitted a report after the matter could not be settled.

In January 2026, a written statement was filed, along with a counterclaim, which was filed in June 2026. It is to be noted that Sunita Ahuja filed for divorce under section 13 (1) (i), (ia), (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act, that is, adultery, cruelty and desertion.

Under What Grounds Did Sunita Ahuja File For Divorce From Govinda?

Section 13 (1) (i): Adultery

The section means that the partner voluntarily chose to have s*xual relations with someone else after the marriage.

Section 13 (1) (ia): Cruelty

This deals with the mental or physical cruelty that the petitioner was subjected to by their spouse.

Section 13 (1) (ib): Desertion

This means that the spouse who has filed the plea was left or neglected by their partner after marriage, and it was not followed by any valid reason.
