During a chat with Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist hosted by Siddhaarth Aalambayan, the actor opened up about the same.
What Shubhangi Atre Said
During the exclusive chat, Shubhangi Atre was asked about how she dealt with unplanned motherhood. To this, she replied, saying, “Honestly, I wasn’t that aware during that time, I did not think if I wanted to be a mother or not. It was common in my family for girls to get averted at 22-23, and my sister also got married at the same age since everyone wanted them to become mothers at the right age. And when I conceived, it was my first child, so I kept it. There was also no time for me to go through postpartum.
My daughter Ashi was just 28 days old when I took her to Pune with me and I used to do everything on my own. My ex-husband used to work for an advertisement agency and at that time I was not working. Then when my daughter turned 8 months old, I felt like doing something, and when I was trying to find work, I got the shampoo commercial and then I entered the industry when Ashi was just 11 months old. But the mom guilt is something that I still face.
