Pathaan’s Besharam Rang song featured the lead stars of the film Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan. Actress Deepika Padukone’s sartorial choices in the song were harshly criticised to the extent that people wanted a ban on it. The lead singer of the song Shilpa Rao opened up about her thoughts on the controversy in a recent conversation with Hauterrfly. When asked about her opinion on a song’s popularity depending on the controversies, the singer said, “I believe the song became eternal because of its own merits, independent of any controversies surrounding it. The controversy was not relevant.” She further added that Besharam Rang found a way into people’s hearts and will forever remain there.

Shilpa Rao also mentioned that her song Tere Hawale from Laal Singh Chaddha gained popularity after a year of its release. Elaborating on the same, she added, “It gained popularity this year because of its inherent beauty. I have faith in the song—it will always be timeless.”
