Exclusive: Shefali Shah On Dealing With Sexism: “I Can Raise My Sons Right So That Women Are Treated Well”

Let’s be honest. Women face casual sexism at home, with their friends and even at their workplace on a daily basis and they are even asked to get along with it in the name of ‘joke’. While some of us hit back at those who pass such comments, many of us choose to ignore the same. Well, as they say, cinema is a reflection of society, many recent projects have thrown light on women’s issues and the problems they face in real life. One such show is Delhi Crime whose season two was dropped on Netflix recently.

She also appeared miffed about how her statement on casual sexism at home was misconstrued and blown out of proportion as it was in context to something very different that had been spoken about. She further said, “Delhi Crime touches on the point that when you point a finger at someone, there are four pointing back at you. Are you not a part of that system? Are you, in some way, not adding to the good and the bad?” Shefali concluded by saying that we are all responsible for what goes on in our lives.
