Exclusive: OMEGA X On Lessons From Hiatus, Adapting Group Dynamics, And India Concert Plans!
In our interview, the members shared how the hiatus reshaped their mindset, discussed the group’s evolving dynamics, and revealed exciting plans for upcoming Indian concerts.
OMEGA X has made their highly anticipated comeback with their fourth mini album, UNCAPPED. The release features members JAEHAN, YECHAN, XEN, KEVIN, SEBIN, JEHYUN, and HWICHAN, created in collaboration with Kooky. This special project holds deep meaning for both the group and their dedicated fans. In our conversation, the members shared how the hiatus reshaped their mindset, discussed the group’s evolving dynamics, and revealed exciting plans for upcoming Indian concerts. 1. After a long hiatus and joining a new agency, how did it feel to finally return with UNCAPPED? What’s been the biggest mindset shift for the group since then?
JAEHAN: More than having a different mindset, I found myself thinking a lot about how we could return to our fans with new music as soon as possible. More than anything, I realised how much I want to stay with our fans for a long, long time.
HWICHAN: I kept telling myself that I needed to work even harder for the fans who waited so patiently for us.
XEN: One phrase I keep telling myself is, “Keep moving forward, no matter what.”
YECHAN: I think I’ve learned to let go of the sense of urgency. Instead, I started to focus on enjoying the journey itself with the people going through it alongside me.
2. You’re now promoting as 7 members. How has the group dynamic changed, and what new chemistry or strengths have you noticed in rehearsals and recordings?
JAEHAN: I could really feel how much the members had grown as vocalists. Because of that, we were able to try more new ideas and create a much wider variety of music.
XEN: I think every member has improved tremendously. It was especially fun because we practised while thinking about how we wanted to present our performances on stage, rather than simply learning the choreography.
JEHYUN: With the members returning from military service and KEVIN joining us, the overall atmosphere of the group, and even our practice sessions, became much brighter and more energetic.
3. Many K-pop groups are adding India to their tour stops nowadays. Indian fans (FOR X) are incredibly passionate and have been waiting for you — when can we expect OMEGA X to perform live in India? Any plans or dreams for a concert here?
SEBIN: To all of our fans in India, thank you so much for always supporting us from afar! We’ll continue working even harder so we can come and see you as soon as possible.
KEVIN: I really want to visit India and meet our fans there. I’m truly grateful that you continue to support and love us, even from so far away.
YECHAN: We know that we have so many fans in India who are always sending us their love and support. We’ll keep working hard to become even more well-known so we can visit you as soon as possible. Little by little, we’re adding more countries to the places we get to perform, and we hope India will be one of them very soon.
