Mahima Chaudhry On Her Comeback: “I Was Trying To Stay Afloat”
Mahima Chaudhry made her comeback with films like The Signature and Emergency after fighting a long battle with cancer and also going through an unfortunate accident. During a candid chat with Hauterrfly, she opened up about her decision to come back to films and face the camera. Mahima Chaudhry said, “At that time, I was just trying to stay afloat and hope because the treatment was on. Even when I was doing Emergency the treatment was on. For The Signature, Anupam said that he wanted me to work on it and make the film part of her journey. He also told me that an actor doesn’t need to look a certain way, vanity doesn’t have to be part of it. So he gave me the confidence.”
Furthermore, she added, “When Kangana heard that I was working, she asked me to come and do a part in her film Emergency. I asked her if she was sure, and she insisted. Karan Johar’s office called me and then I did a film with them called Naadaniyan which has Sunil Shetty, and Khushi Kapoor. Even Sanjay Mishra called me. I was just amazed. I was trying to cope and hold on to myself and get through the treatment, my industry showed me so much love. I know they do love me but the support was just amazing.”
The Signature was released on October 4 on Zee5.
