The film starring Madhuri Dixit, Triptii Dimri, Dharna Durga, Ravi Kishan and Geetanjali Kulkarni is receiving immense love. In an exclusive conversation with the director, Suresh Triveni, we were curious to know more about the perfect casting. During this discussion, Suresh Triveni recalled the conversations with Triptii Dimri for the role of Jaya and his first question to her after Animal’s success! Read on.
Suresh Triveni On Casting Triptii Dimri: “Animal Had Not Released That Time”
Maa Behen director Suresh Triveni spoke at length about the casting. He recalled the process of finding the right actor for the character of Jaya. The director said, “Yes, we were looking out for options for Jaya. We did meet some leading ladies. Something happened, and it just struck me, let me just go back to my gut. I told my writers, why don’t we go to Triptii Dimri. That time, Animal had not been released, and she was shooting for Dhadak 2. So my writer, Pooja, and I flew down to Bhopal, and we narrated the script to her. A month later, Animal became a huge hit. Guess what my first question was to her! Are you still doing my film?”
Suresh Triveni went on to reveal Triptii Dimri’s response to the question and said, “She very graciously said, of course, Sir.” He added, “Life had overnight changed for her. But well, no one doubted her talent.”
Suresh Triveni also revealed that Dharna Durga was his first choice for the character of Sushma, a fun and quirky content creator. He also added, “I didn’t audition anyone.”
