Kookie Gulati On Negative Reviews Of Jewel Thief
During a recent interaction with us, director Kookie Gulati addressed the negative reviews and reactions around his recent film, Jewel Thief. The filmmaker said, “I have received amazing messages about how good the film is, also. Actually, what happens is that when you have a film that’s released at this scale, you are going to have so many thoughts and opinions about it. So when you make something at this scale, we are ready for that. We know, especially when you are making something that has a commercial approach, something that is made just for fun and to be enjoyed with a popcorn. People are taking films a bit too seriously; just get entertained, don’t overthink everything, and just have fun. We used to go to movies and enjoy ourselves, have fun. That’s basically what it was supposed to do, and we think it did that.”
Kookie Gulati also spoke about the positive responses he got for the film. He added, “I got such amazing messages on how much they have enjoyed the film. There are also some good reviews that we have received. Unfortunately, in today’s world, negative attracts a little more. So that’s about it. But you will be surprised at the number of positive messages we have received. Also, we are trending No.1 on India Netflix, and worldwide also we are in the top 4-5. I have received calls from Poland. The kind of response is just phenomenal.”
Kookie Gulati and Robbie Grewal’s Jewel Thief is currently streaming on Netflix.
