Exclusive: Ahsaas Channa Shares How Industry Has Changed Post #MeToo Movement: “Casting People Meet Publicly”

Female actors have to go through a lot of disgusting experiences and one of them has to be the casting couch. Many actresses have spoken about it over the years. Especially during the #MeToo movement in 2018, many well-known actresses shared their experiences before the public and openly named the alleged accused too. Whether things changed for the actresses or not can be better told by people who work in it. On the new episode of The Male Feminist, actress Ahsaas Channa spoke about these changes in the workings of the film industry post #MeToo movement.

Ahsaas Channa started her career in films as a child actor and now she is one of the most talented young artists in the country. She graced the latest episode of The Male Feminist and had a candid chat with the host Siddharth Aalambayan. From talking about feminism to discussing the everyday pains in a woman’s life, Ahsaas spoke on a range of topics. She also talked about the changes that happened in the industry after the #MeToo movement. Ahsaas said that there have many changes after the movement. The actress called the Me Too wave an “Unfortunate blessing in disguise.” She also stated that people in the industry ask actors to come with their managers for any kind of meeting. “The casting people, producer or anyone related to the project meets you publicly and not in their homes,” added Ahsaas.

Ahsaas Channa firmly stated that the courage taken by a  few women to talk about their horrible experiences is making the industry a safer place for millions of girls in the present and future.
