Famous actor Aamna Sharif made her comeback on television with the popular show, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, and replaced Hina Khan as Komolika Basu. The actor was very loved and praised in this iconic role, but there were natural comparisons between the two. During an exclusive chat with Hauterrfly’s The Male Feminist, hosted by Siddhaarth Aalambayan, she opened up about this challenge while playing a legacy role. Read to know what she said here.
Aaman Sharif On Comparisons With Hina Khan
During the exclusive chat, Aaman Sharif opened up about her comparisons with Hina Khan while playing the role of Komolika Basu in Kausautii Zindagii Kay. She said, “Of course, there were multiple comparisons since Hina Khan played that character for a very long time. But we would never discuss this while meeting in person because it doesn’t make sense. I feel it’s not easy to get into a role that someone has played and also be loved by people, because you will be compared. It is not easy; there was a lot of pressure, which I realised after signing for the role.
But, again, it was a challenge for me as an actor, so I ended up doing that. But I will be more careful the next time because I would rather have my own character than sign for a role that is already played by someone. Talking about Komolika, I think I could’ve done more in terms of the character. This was also because we didn’t get the opportunity to fully explore it since the show had to go off-air. But I would love to take up more such roles that challenge me as an actor. So, whenever I am not working, the only thing I’m doing is improving my craft and learning new things.”
