Mina had built a well-known presence by running accounts that focused on ENHYPEN member Ni-ki. She lived in Seoul and regularly shared updates that drew a large number of followers. The trouble began after Ni-ki’s livestream, where he mentioned how some fans try hard to stand out and gain attention from the members at concerts or events.

He said this kind of action can spoil the good mood for everyone. The K-pop idol did not name anyone, but many fans thought it was a dig at Mina. She had posted pictures of herself meeting Ni-ki and another member called Sunoo at a signing event in the United States.
After the livestream, Mina posted a short note saying she planned to leave the fan group. Soon she shared a longer message of regret. She said she brought special flowers, hoping to create a moment between Sunoo and Ni-ki. She felt she may have used Sunoo’s kindness too much. Mina also said going to many events made her think she was closer to the members than she really was. She felt sorry for putting her own wishes first and for changing the mood at the event. She thanked her followers and said she was stepping away.
However, people kept blaming her online for seeking attention. On her Instagram page, which had many thousands of followers, she showed screenshots of rude messages. One told her to stop being a fan and said the members only acted nice because it was their job. She answered by asking why strangers said such things to her. These posts spread far, and many later saw them as signs of the pressure she faced.

Early on August 5, a friend called the police in Seoul after seeing Mina in clear trouble during a livestream from her home. Other people watching the same livestream also tried to get help. Officers went to her place in the Hangangno-dong area, but Mina was later confirmed dead. The local police station is still checking all the details of what happened.
Neither Ni-ki nor the company that manages ENHYPEN has stated that the livestream remarks referred to Mina.
Still, these events have made many people wonder how online comments can actually harm someone. This loss is a clear reminder that kindness and respect should be basic in every fandom.
