While conversing with the Free Press Journal, Ishita Dutta supported Deepika Padukone’s 8-hour work shift demand. She mentioned that there are multiple male actors who are neither mothers nor willing to work for 12-15 hours a day. Ishita added, “I’m saying giving it or not (8-hour shift) is your personal choice.” According to her, the production can say no, but the problem begins when one is making a big deal about it and trying to not justify it. She further said that there are a lot of actors one can cast who are willing to work for 12-15 hours; however, one cannot belittle the other person by saying that it is an “unreasonable ask”. Ishita also mentioned that she has worked for longer hours, but the makers have been considerate enough to let her leave early. Drishyam 3 star also added that one needs to have a baby to realise how much of it goes, adding that she would also probably demand the same; however, she doesn’t think she is there yet.
