Vanessa Bryant, the wife of deceased NBA legend Kobe Bryant, is now a public figure not just because of her resilience but because of how she protected and built up the Bryant family legacy. Five years following Kobe’s death, her net value stands at 600 million (Celebrity Net Worth, 2025), which is a product of inheritance, investments, court settlements, and entrepreneurial activities.
Vanessa Bryant’s Wealth Increases After Kobe Bryant’s Death
Born Vanessa Cornejo Urbieta, she was 17 when she first met Kobe Bryant while working on a music video. She and Bryant wed in 2001 and shared four daughters together. Despite periodic backlash and a near-breakup in 2011, which could have been settled with an $80 million payment if not for the lack of a prenuptial agreement, the pair reconciled and remained together until Kobe’s tragic death in January 2020.
After the fatal helicopter crash that took the lives of Kobe and their daughter Gianna, Vanessa took over leadership positions in some of Kobe’s businesses. She currently heads up Granity Studios, Kobe’s multimedia business, and heads up the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation, which funds underprivileged athletes. She has also launched the Mambacita apparel line, developed in memory of Gianna, with proceeds going toward charitable endeavours.

Vanessa’s fortune is not only dependent on Kobe’s NBA salary and endorsement contract. In 2021, she also sued Los Angeles County when sheriff’s deputies and firefighters were discovered sharing graphic photos from the crash scene. The suit led to a $16 million jury verdict, followed by a larger 28.85 million settlement.
Aside from that, Vanessa has also gained from Kobe’s long-term investments, such as real estate properties and business ventures. These investments have largely accounted for the reported 600 million value of her fortune.
