Bollywood actor Aamir Khan recently tied the knot with Gauri Spratt at his Mumbai residence surrounded by his friends and family. The closed-door event was his third marriage which was also attended by his kids, Ira Khan and Junaid Khan. About Aamir Khan’s Wedding Attire
Aamir Khan donned an ivory silk kurta along with a matching dhoti with a silver anklet. This piece from his attire quickly became the talking point from the videos with people wanting to know the story behind it. Though it is uncommon these days, men wearing anklets in the history of the Indian subcontinent was not something different. Reports suggested that many temple carvings, and historical sculptures including the depicted kings and warriors wore many kinds of jewellery including anklets and armlets. But overtime, these ornaments started associating more with women’s fashion.
Today, many men often revisit these jewellery designs without sticking to the rigid gender labels. Khan was also praised for his down-to-earth nature after he was seen walking barefoot to see off his guests who had come to attend his wedding. Ahead of the big day, he had also revealed that it would be a “small” wedding and even requested fans and media to Nehha him and Gauri Spratt. Many videos from inside the ceremony featured the two dancing and performing traditional rituals. One particular clip showed cricketer Irfan Pathan also enjoying with Gauri and Aamir while another showed them saying wedding vows.
