During a chat with Humans of Bombay, Lalit Modi said that his past relationship with Sushmita Sen was very special and that it was the “distance” that became too much for them since her career was in India and the businessman was settled in London. But he revealed that he had very fond memories of her. Modi added that they were still friends and called her an amazing lady. He also praised Sen as a single mother and wished her the best of luck. Their relationship exploded after he shared some pictures of them as a couple online, leading to many being shocked.
When asked about the actor being trolled and called a “gold digger,” Lalit Modi said that she had more diamonds than anyone he knew and that she was very “wealthy.” The businessman said that she was the one who paid for everything during their relationship and that he was a “kept boyfriend.” He further defended her and stated that if anything, he was a “diamond digger” while she owned many diamond stores as well. The businessman clearly stated that Sushmit had never accepted anything from anyone and that she was misunderstood.
