There are some movies that we have been desperately waiting for, but unfortunately, these projects are somehow not panning out well. One of them on this list is the Indian spinoff of Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway’s The Intern. The film’s initial cast featured the late Rishi Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. But as per new reports, DP will mostly not play the lead in this film; instead, she will take up another role in this film. Read here for more.

Deepika Padukone No Longer In The Intern?

Deepika Padukone was supposed to play the role of Anne Hathaway in the Indian remake of The Intern. However, as per the latest reports, DP will not be playing the lead role, as per a report by Mid-Day. Furthermore, the actor will be a part of the film but only as a producer, and will reportedly oversee the logistics and creative decisions of the film. The report quoted the source that revealed Deepika wanted to explore her career as a creator, and the film was on the list of the first five projects she plans to release in the coming years. As per the reports, the Piku star wants to bring stories that were globally relevant.

After the death of actor Rishi Kapoor, it was confirmed that the role would be taken up by Amitabh Bachchan, however, we are yet to know more details about the project.
