Last week was quite a rollercoaster ride watching the Gen Z protest over the NEET paper leak. The social media feeds were filled with visuals from Delhi’s Jantar Mantar and other parts of the country. Many celebrities also participated in the protests, and one of them was comedian Raunak Rajani. He has made strong claims of assault against Mumbai police, and has alleged that his wife’s rib has been fractured due to manhandling. Read here.
What Did Comedian Raunak Rajani Claim Against Mumbai Police
Raunak Rajani posted a video on his social media handle to explain the series of events that led to the protests turning violent. He started the video by saying, “My wife’s rib has been fractured”, and he also posted a medical report alongside as proof. Raunak said that his wife’s rib was hurt and he got a neck sprain when the Mumbai police shoved them inside a police van.
The comedian then went on to show all the visuals as proof of how the police behaved with them while getting them detained during the protest. Raunak Rajani first showed how the Mumbai Police was detaining a boy without his fault. Then went on to show the visuals in which he alleged that a cop dressed in civil clothes manhandled his wife when she was raising her voice to protect her husband. Raunak Rajani also stated that instead of a woman, the male police officers were handling her and pushing them with full force inside the van. The comedian also put out all the videos to support his claims and allegations against the Mumbai Police. Raunak Rajani further said that he and his wife had filed a complaint at the Shivaji Park Police Station. According to him, they were waiting for a call back so they could go ahead and file an FIR against the police who “kicked” his wife in the ribs, and the cop in a red T-shirt who manhandled her. Here’s the video.
