Chiranjeevi Wants Ram Charan To Have A Boy; Is Scared To Have Another Granddaughter. Is He Serious?

It’s 2025 and sometimes the stars we worship as god disappoint us with the most regressive statements that showcase their mindset. In recent events, Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi spoke about having too many ‘granddaughters’ and even said that he was scared that his son Ram Charan might have a daughter again as he wants his family’s legacy to continue. Here’s what he said.

Chiranjeevi Wants Ram Charan To Have A Boy

Chiranjeevi recently appeared as a chief guest at the Brahma Anandam pre-release. During his interaction with the press, the actor revealed being surrounded by too many granddaughters which makes him feel like a warden at the ladies’ hostel. Apart from this, he wants his son Ram Charan to become a father again and have a son to take on the family’s legacy. In his words, “I keep wishing and telling (Ram) Charan, at least this time, to have a boy so that our legacy continues, but his daughter is the apple of his eye… I’m scared that he might again have a girl.”

Previously, Ram Charan spoke with the Times of India, revealing that he felt a sense of responsibility for his daughter for the first six months after her birth. However, as Klin Kaara learnt to recognise faces, he grew increasingly attached to his tiny princess and refused to leave her.

Being such a big star with a massive following and impact on a large chunk of the population, this statement from Chiranjeevi felt regressive and unnecessary. This puts us back two decades when most assumed men and women to be unequal. Being surrounded by girls felt more like a burden to him rather than a blessing.
