Chamkila Trailer: Diljit Dosanjh, Parineeti Chopra Look Promising In Imtiaz Ali Film On Punjab’s Controversial Singer

The trailer of the much-anticipated film on Punjab’s controversial and highest-record-selling artist Chamkila is here. Amar Singh Chamkila is directed by Imtiaz Ali and stars Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra in lead roles. The film will be released on Netflix but the trailer gives out a lot of information about the important events that it will cover. Undoubtedly, Diljit Dosanjh looks very convincing in his role as the singer, and we hope that the end product does not disappoint us either. Parineeti plays the role of a singer and Chamkila’s wife, Amarjot. Take a look at the trailer.
The Imtiaz Ali film Amar Singh Chamkila is inspired by the life of Punjab’s OG singer artist Dhanni Ram AKA Chamkila, which was his stage name. The singer died at the age of 27 and from the trailer, it looks like the film will show the events that led to the singer’s death. The trailer shows the young Chamkila who dreamt of becoming famous through his art, and how he embarks upon this journey. The Imtiaz Ali film will also show the two sides of Chamkila’s life, one in which he enjoyed a major fan following but simultaneously also received a lot of backlash for his obscene songs. Talking about the performances in the film looks like Diljit Dosanjh is all set to create his magic on our screens again because the actor looks quite convincing as Chamkila. Parineeti Chopra looks promising too, and the chemistry between the two also looks interesting! Another aspect that we are all excited about is the film’s album by A.R Rehman. The background score and glimpses where Chamkila performs on the stage have got us seated.
