Prime Video has been giving fans plenty of romantic dramas filled with steamy moments and heart-fluttering chemistry. Adding to the list is Campus Drivers, a new college romance that might make viewers wish they had a love story of their own. Directed by Tom Goris and Vianney Lebasque, the show is based on C.S. Quill’s bestselling college romance book series. It stars Carmen Kassovitz and Baptiste Masseline. But does it live up to the hype? Read on to know all about it.

What Is Campus Drivers About?

Campus Drivers follows Lois, a student at the prestigious Belrose University, who is excited to start a new semester with her long-time boyfriend, Max. She has everything planned out and believes they are heading towards a happy future together. However, things take an unexpected turn when Max suddenly breaks up with her.

With her relationship falling apart and nowhere to stay, Lois finds herself in a difficult situation. She eventually knocks on the door of Lane, a charming university student who runs the most popular rideshare app on campus. Lane is known for avoiding serious relationships, but he agrees to let Lois stay with him for a while.

What starts as a temporary arrangement soon turns into an interesting living situation. As the two spend more time together, they begin to understand each other better.

What Works And What Doesn’t?

Let’s start with the good part. The cast has done a decent job, and Carmen Kassovitz and Baptiste Masseline look great together on screen. Their performances make it easy to get invested in their relationship. However, there is only so much actors can do when the writing does not give them enough to work with.

The biggest problem with Campus Drivers is that it introduces interesting characters but never really explores them. Lane’s fear of commitment and Lois’s struggle to find herself after her breakup could have made the story more meaningful. Instead, these issues are mostly used to create drama between the two.

The storyline also becomes predictable after a point. Nothing really makes the story stand out or keeps viewers guessing about what might happen next.

Well, the show does look good. From college parties to stylish cars and beautiful locations, there is enough to keep viewers interested visually. But good visuals cannot always make up for a weak story.

Final Verdict

The best part of Campus Drivers is easily the chemistry between Lane and Lois. Their playful conversations, teasing and growing attraction make their scenes enjoyable. While the show is full of familiar romance clichés and predictable moments, the two manage to keep things interesting even when the storyline gets boring.

So, should viewers watch it? Well, if good-looking actors, college romance and a few steamy moments are enough, Campus Drivers can be an easy weekend watch. However, those expecting a strong love story with emotional depth might be disappointed.

Sometimes, good chemistry is simply not enough to save a show. Hopefully, Season 2 gives the characters more depth and takes viewers on a much more exciting ride!
