BTS RM Opens Up About Trainees Spending Over 40K On Skincare, Shopping With Military Card. Fans Annoyed!

During the live with j-hope, V, and Jimin, RM talked about giving his military store card to trainees.

BTS RM, also known as Kim Namjoon, has been telling stories from his military days since his discharge. Many of these stories have made fans, aka ARMYs, feel shocked and sad. Now another story has come up that has divided opinions. During a livestream with other BTS members, the ‘Come Back To Me’ singer shared what happened at the Nonsan Training Center. He tried to help some trainees with a small favour, but things went much further than expected. Read on to know!

During the live with j-hope, V, and Jimin, RM talked about giving his military store card to trainees in the next group. He asked them to buy a few snacks. But they spent about 660,000 Korean won, which is around 438 US dollars. They bought many things like snail mucin cream for skin care, health products, and other daily items to send to their families. The bill was so big that the store’s payment machine broke down. It was the first time this ever happened at the base.

The commander saw the large purchase and called RM to find out what was going on. The boy band leader told him he had given his card to trainees to get snacks. But they had picked up more than 100 different items to give to their parents. The trainees later said sorry to RM for buying so much.

After the story spread on the internet, many fans got upset. They said the trainees went too far and took advantage of RM’s kind heart. Fans felt it showed a lack of respect. Even though RM did not seem angry and laughed about it during the live, ARMYs believed the actions were wrong. They said the problem was not about the money, but about misusing someone’s kind nature.
