What Is The Bombay High Court’s Verdict?
The Bombay High Court, presided over by Justice Madhav Jamdar, heard Preity Zinta’s plea on Wednesday. According to a Bar And Bench report, he has passed an interim order directing the removal of AI-generated deepfakes, morphed images and other content that affected the actor’s personality and fundamental rights. The court also noted the dangerous use of artificial intelligence on social media that generated such ‘offensive’ content. The bench also gave a reminder of the various rules under the Technology Act of the government and directed the intermediaries to follow them.
What Was Preity Zinta’s Plea?
Solicitor Jai Munim represented the actor to file a plea in the Bombay High Court. In her plea, Preity Zinta mentioned that the use of AI, deepfakes, and morphed images by various social media platforms and other websites violates personality rights. She requested the protection of her images from any name, unnamed person or websites for any monetary or personal profits. In her plea, Preity Zinta requested protection for her name, nickname, smile, or any other personality traits, according to reports.
