11 Bollywood Rom-Coms To Watch If You Love Holiday Movies, Because T’is The Season!
Happy watching! It is time for my favourite part of the year – winter. I love everything about this time – the cold, the hot chocolate, the holidays, etc. But if there is one thing that I love more than anything this season, it is the holiday rom-coms. The ones that you can watch while being cuddled up next to your partner or just with your blanket. But I have to admit, as much as I love watching English rom-coms, I am a bit, okay a lot, biased when it comes to Bollywood rom-coms.
Yes, Bollywood has given us some amazing rom-coms that I don’t think get enough credit for. These movies have it all – drama, emotions, groovy songs, yearning, and everything in between.
And so, this year ditch the holiday rom-coms and get lost in the world of desi rom-coms with these movies:
1. Hum Tum
Hum Tum starring Rani Mukerji and Saif Ali Khan took the battle of the sexes to a whole different level. With Saif’s brilliant comic timing and Rani’s mind-blowing (and hilarious) expressions, this is arguably one of the best Bollywood rom-com movies.
2. Namastey London

Namastey London is a story about a man, Akshay Kumar, who is from a small village in Punjab and gets married to a bratty NRI, Katrina Kaif. As fate would have it, he is head over heels for her while she is already involved with someone else. How he gets the girl is what the rest of the plot is. This Bollywood rom-com will hit you in all the right places.
3. Love Aaj Kal
Love Aaj Kal starring Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan is all hearts. It is arguably the best Bollywood rom-com ever! Shuffling between olden times and new-age love, this movie has some of the best scenes, dialogues, and of course songs that will break and make your heart.
4. Band Baaja Baarat
Band Baaja Baarat is the story of two business partners – Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh – who reach the peak of their success, but things get a lot more complicated when the duo starts developing feelings for each other. This movie has it all – the drama, emotions, and songs that will make you feel things.
5. Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na
This is one of my favourite Bollywood rom-coms. It is about two opposite best friends – wild child Genelia D’Souza and calm-composed Imran Khan – who are in denial about their love for each other. They even go on to date other people until they realise that what they called friendship was actually love. And the best part about the movie is the typical airport scene, obviously with a desi twist, that you see in most rom-coms!
6. Aisha
Aisha is one of Sonam Kapoor’s most underrated movies. If you ask me, this movie has all the elements of a rom-com movie – drama, character growth, best friends falling out, and more. And what makes this movie even better are the songs – uff, just can’t with how good they are.

7. Khoobsurat
Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan make an amazing pair and if you’re worried about whether they have chemistry – well, Khoobsurat is here to put those doubts to rest. The palpable chemistry, the quirky parents, the entertaining situations – all of it together makes this movie Bollywood’s best rom-com.
8. Hasee Toh Phasee

Hasee Toh Phasee starring Parineeti Chopra and Siddharth Malhotra is one of the funniest rom-coms Bollywood has come up with. It is quirky, a tad bit weird, and filled with cool chemistry between the lead characters.
9. Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu
Remember the time when Ross and Rachel got married and how the entire ordeal around it just created hilarious situations? Well, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is the Bollywood version of it. This movie starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Imran Khan shows the two of them getting married after a drunken night in Las Vegas. What follows is a fun, entertaining rollercoaster ride.
10. Bareilly Ki Barfi
If we are talking about rom-coms then Bareilly Ki Barfi most definitely has to be on the list. The movie starring Kriti Sanon, Rajkummar Rao, and Ayushmann Khurrana is filled with impeccable comic timing, brilliant performances by the cast, and even better songs!
11. Qarib Qarib Single
Irrfan Khan has quite a sense of humour and this is on full display in this rom-com Qarib Qarib Single. The movie revolves around two people with extremely different personalities who meet on a dating app and soon after end up on a journey to rediscover themselves and also meet Irrfan Khan’s exes. This movie is nothing short of a joy ride!
