Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai! fame, Shilpa Shinde has been targetted for her relationship status ever since her engagement with actor Romit Raj broke off. Speaking about the same, the actress shared that she is happy being single and is not actively looking for a companion. The actress also spoke about her work and said that people just assume that she doesn’t want to work in television anymore.
Speaking to TOI, Shilpa Shinde said that she had been engaged to actor Romit Raj a long time ago and she was very young at that time. Sharing that she did not want to settle down back then, the actress said that everyone around her felt that it was the perfect age and time for her to get married. Shilpa said that eventually, her relationship with the actor fell apart after things didn’t work out between them and their engagement broke off. The Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai! actress shared that she got into another relationship after her engagement broke off but she had a bad experience yet again. “Maine apne kaan pakad liye that I would steer away from relationships. I’ve realised that I am happy being single. I can’t be answerable to anyone. When I am working, and if someone asks me where I am going or what I am doing, I can’t keep answering him,” she told the news portal.
Speaking further Shilpa Shinde said that she has seen so many relationships falling apart. She shared that she does not understand how decades-long relationships don’t work due to incompatibility issues and questioned how couples find themselves to be incompatible after being together for so long. “Even though my family wants me to get married, I am not desperate to find a companion and prefer to be single. And even if I do find someone in the future, I will not want to label the relationship,” the Bigg Boss 11 winner told TOI.

Talking about her work, Shilpa Shinde said that while there is a lot of money fame and good work in the television industry, people have already assumed that she does not want to act in television shows. Revealing that she hasn’t been offered anything nice in television, the actress said that she chose to explore the digital medium and did some web series. “Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai! was my comeback show and after that, I didn’t want to do something where I just had to stand and give expressions,” she added. When asked about all the accusations and speculations that she is known for throwing tantrums, the actress told TOI, that there have been certain issues but if things are being projected as her throwing tantrums or having an attitude then she does not know what to say. Pointing out that she likes to be ‘clear’ and ‘forthright’ and ‘not diplomatic’, she said that people feel she is short-tempered but “the truth is the truth”.
