Recently, Kannada actor Kiccha Sudeep tweeted about south Indian films doing well in pan India. Sudeep also went on to write in his tweet that Hindi is no longer a national language. This statement by him irked Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn who responded to his tweet by writing that if Hindi is no longer the national language then why are his films getting dubbed in it? He further wrote that Hindi will always remain our mother tongue and national language. And now, Ajay Devgn’s comment did not sit well with actor Divya Spandana who also goes by her screen name Ramya. She has slammed Devgn for his comments and also called him ignorant.

No- Hindi is not our national language. @ajaydevgn Your ignorance is baffling. And it’s great that films like KGF Pushpa and RRR have done so well in the Hindi belt- art has no language barrier.

In response to Ajay’s tweet, Kiccha Sudeep gave his clarification that his statement was received in a different context by Devgn. He also wrote that he will emphasise why he said that statement in person.
Hello @ajaydevgn sir.. the context to why i said tat line is entirely different to the way I guess it has reached you. Probably wil emphasis on why the statement was made when I see you in person. It wasn't to hurt,Provoke or to start any debate. Why would I sir 😁 https://t.co/w1jIugFid6

This did not stop there. Ajay Devgn thanked Kiccha Sudeep for his clarification and said that ‘something was lost in translation’.
Hi @KicchaSudeep, You are a friend. thanks for clearing up the misunderstanding. I’ve always thought of the film industry as one. We respect all languages and we expect everyone to respect our language as well. Perhaps, something was lost in translation 🙏
