Bachchhan Pandey’ Trailer Ft. Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon Brings Dark Humour To A Grisly Story

We have had news coming in of a lot of new releases recently. Be it Gangubai Kathiawadi or Hey Sinamika, it is safe to assume that the Indian entertainment industry is coming at us with a lot to look forward to. One of these is action-comedy Bachchhan Pandey starring Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Arshad Warsi, Jacqueline Fernandez, Pankaj Tripathi, Prateik Babbar, Gaurav Chopraa, Sanjay Mishra, Abhimanyu Singh, Snehal Daabbi and Saharsh Kumar Shukla. It is written by Nischay Kuttanda and Farhad Samji while being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. Bachchhan Pandey is supposed to be a remake of 2014 Tamil film Jigarthanda.

So, what is Bachchhan Pandey about? The movie seemingly revolves around Kriti Sanon’s quest to find a subject for her movie. She finally decides to make a movie on famed killer, Bachchhan Pandey (played by Akshay Kumar). Despite Arshad Warsi’s constant warnings regarding how unsafe this is, she drags him along with her to Bachchhan Pandey and his gang of quirky men where their story begins.

The trailer first comes across as one of those trailers that reveal too much from the get-go. However, the more I watched and gave it some thought, the more I realized just how many questions I have about the story. The trailer is the definition of “revealed just enough.” It gives you enough information to get invested without revealing anything that might spoil the movie. A rarity, indeed.

While I went into the Bachchhan Pandey trailer not expecting much I have come out of it with my mind changed. I did not expect the dark humour paired with the gruesomely violent scenes and to say that I am looking forward to it is an understatement.

Bachchhan Pandey is all set to release in cinemas on 18th March 2022.
