Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt and filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi made history at the box office, after which the two will also be working on Love & War, featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. Amid this, their old project called Inshallah, featuring Salman, which was reportedly cancelled, is allegedly being reimagined with some changes to the script. Read to know more about it here.
About Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War
According to a report by Mid Day, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Alia Bhatt are all set to collaborate for the third time, and the conversations to revive the previously shelved Inshallah have begun. Reports suggest that the script will now go through some writing changes since the two are now discussing a reimagined version of the love story. It said that their perspective had changed now and though the core story would remain the same, the material would be reworked to give it a fresh spin. Early rumours also suggested that none other than Shah Rukh Khan was being considered to play the lead in the film.
However, this report suggested that Bhansali would be finalising the script first before looking at casting decisions. Since Salman Khan is busy with Raj-DK’s film, and SRK with King, it is possible that the filmmaker might end up taking a younger actor for the role. For the unversed, Inshallah was originally announced in 2019, when it was shelved due to some creative differences between Salman Khan and Sanjay Bhansali. A 2023 News18 conversation with designer Rupin Suchak revealed that the film might not happen due to the showdown between Khan and the director. He further said that he and Bhansali had even gone to the US to finalise locations.
