Akashdeep Saigal Reacts Being Trolled For Age Gap With Smriti Irani In Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, But He Missed The Point!

Ever since Smriti Irani made her return to television in the iconic Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, the show has never failed to grab headlines. Talking about the same, the recent episode also marked the comeback of Akashdeep Saigal as Tulsi’s grandson. He previously played her son’s role, Ansh, in the show. His return sparked an age gap conversation, with many pointing out that she is actually a year younger than him. Now, talking about the same, Akashdeep gave a befitting reply to the trolls. Know all about it below!

Akashdeep Saigal Replies To Trolls

While conversing with Mid-Day, Akashdeep Saigal stated that the truth was right there, and it simply cannot be manipulated by certain insecurities. He asked to think about how we can’t even control the hair growing on our own heads, as it just grows. Akashdeep questioned why one should fight destiny or a universal calling. He referred to trolling as just noise, which comes from the fear and insecurities of a few people who are hiding behind screens. He stressed that this kind of shallow negativity never lasts.

The actor also said that if he and Ektaa Kapoor sat around worrying about a few trolls instead of focusing on the audience who actually love and celebrate their show, the greatest stories would never be made. He praised Ektaa, calling her visionary and saying that she doesn’t ask and has never asked for permission. The actor stated that Ektaa knows exactly what she is doing, which is rooted in her faith and Mata Rani’s grace.

He Asks Audience To Focus On Meaningful Storytelling

In the same conversation, Akashdeep Saigal highlighted that their show was entering a new phase and that the audience should appreciate meaningful storytelling rather than the noise. He also said that their team will keep on focusing on spreading love and entertaining people while some may continue to spread negativity from the shadows. The actor shared that they want to bring forth a compelling and uplifting story.

We feel that he should not have been targeted for his appearance. But what the showmakers are trying to convey when it comes to their dynamic does not feel real and relatable. Additionally, it seems that women over 30 are usually pushed to play older roles but the same does not go for men and Akashdeep should have highlighted the same. It’s time that we call out these double standards.
