The actress revealed this news during Lock Upp S2’s premiere, and the internet is not able to get over it. However, she recently shared more clearly about their split, which included her never feeling the maternal instinct, whereas Gaurav wanted kids in life!

During her conversation with contestants Shreya Kalra and Sufi Motiwala on Lock Upp S2, Akanksha Chamola revealed that in her and Gaurav Khanna’s marriage, she never felt the maternal instinct. However, she revealed being open to discovering it, and it was never shut down. The actress gradually realised that she was not meant for it, and he was okay with that but as per Akanksha, that shifted with time. The contestant stated that the Anupama star wants children, and she can’t give him that as she doesn’t have that instinct, adding that she had told him long back. Akanksha recalled having a discussion with her husband where she told him that if he wanted to leave her, then he could, as it was “fair enough.” The actress stated that 99 % of the people want to get married because they want to have children and want to take forward the family lineage. Akanksha acknowledged that Gaurav wasn’t wrong on his part. She reflected on the time when he was on Bigg Boss 19, when she realized that he wanted to have children badly and she wasn’t able to provide that for him. She stated that she didn’t want to put him in that situation. Having mentioned this, the actress clarified that she didn’t want to adopt a child, adding that she wanted to remain child-free.
