From Vishal Bhardwaj To Eka Lakhani, Indian Artists Invited To Join The Academy’s List

The Academy Of Motion Pictures Arts And Sciences has invited 529 film professionals, and many prominent Indian figures are also a part of it.

Another moment of pride for India, as many prominent faces from the Entertainment Industry have been invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Oscars voting body. A total of 529 film professionals have been invited to join, and this list includes many prominent Indian celebrities like Vishal Bhardwaj and Eka Lakhani, among others. Read here for more.

Recently, the Academy Of Motion Pictures and Sciences has invited many professionals to join the Academy and become a part of the Oscars Voting Body. The list has been made on the basis of each invitee’s contribution to the motion pictures over the span of their respective careers. They have become official Oscars voters, and the Academy has invited them to be a part of the Motion Picture Academy. Now, the great news here is that the list of 529 professionals also includes many renowned Indian names. The first one being filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj, who recently directed the Shahid Kapoor starrer O’Romeo. Costume designer Eka Lakhani is also on the list. editor Deepa Bhatia and National Award-winning editor A. Sreekar Prasad are also on the list.

Documentary filmmaker Shalini Kantayya, casting director Dilip Shankar, animation artist Avneet Kaur, and production and technology experts Farah Khan and Rajesh Ramachandran have also been invited to join the Academy.

These renowned Indian personalities are sharing the list with international artists like Jenna Ortega, Jacob Elordi, Josh Safdie, Mia Goth, Julia Garner, and  Bill Skarsgard, among others. Academy CEO Bill Kramer and Academy President Lynette Howell Taylor put out a joint statement in which they expressed delight to call upon such esteemed film professionals to be a part of the Academy. They acknowledged the exceptional contribution of the invitees to the global film industry.
