Comedian Samay Raina’s famous show India’s Got Latent is back with its season two, and the first episode featuring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari instantly went viral. And amid this, an old episode from the first season has been resurfacing online which has again shed light on the Rs 370 Biryan joke, which has been getting him much backlash
About Samay Raina
In the now viral clip, a girl who had come to attend Samay Raina’s show with her boyfriend suddenly left in the middle of the show. This surprised him and asked what happened. The guy just smiled and stated that she had to leave urgently since her father had a mini heart attack. Raina then asked how he was so “chill” about it and is not going with her to see how serious the situation was. Samay even asked her to give her a shoulder to cry one since she would only given him oral s*x after that.
This left everyone in splits and even led them thto compare this joke to the recent Rs 370 biryani joke. Reacting to this statement, one X (Previously Twitter) stated that this joke is not better than the biryani joke and slammed him for this “locker room language” in front of a large audience. They pointed out how such jokes contribute to crimes and violence against women. Many users criticised this joke and argued that offering emotional support does not entitle them to physical intimacy.
They said that using comedy or justify such ideas and normalising such attitudes is not okay. Others accused Samay Raina for supporting misogyny and even hoped that people defending such comments would eventually understand the impact it may have. Another user admitted that though they supported Samay previously, this remark changed everything for them.
