Women’s Day 2023 Theme Strives To Empower Women Digitally, Promote Gender Equality In Technology

In my opinion, women should be celebrated every day, however, we do have a special day dedicated to them which is on March 8, every year. But well, did you that in 1909, the first-ever women’s day was celebrated in the USA? However, around 1913-14, March 8 was decided to be the official day to celebrate International Women’s Day. The day is largely focused to talk and create awareness about gender equality, women’s rights and the issues faced by this gender across the globe. Every year there is a new theme for the day and this year’s theme is here. It is all about empowering women with digital knowledge and celebrating their contribution to this field.

March 8 which will be a Wednesday and International Women’s Day will be celebrated across the globe. There will be events and talk shows which will essentially revolve around women, and for that the theme this year will be DigitAll: Innovation and Technology for gender equality. These themes are decided by United Nations and the primary motive for this year’s International Women’s Day theme was to give attention to women serving in the world of digital space.

It is very evident that women’s representation in the field of technology and science is significantly low. There are many women who have made exceptional contributions in this field, however, not enough is being done to bring them to par with the men. This is the reason why this year women’s day will be about acknowledging not just their work but also about starting conversations on this raging issue. The day will also stress the importance of women’s education in this digital world. Also, let’s individually try and change ideologies that still looks down upon women when it comes to digital and scientific knowledge.
