Captain Deeksha C. Mudadevannanavar served as a military doctor in MH Goloconda hospital of the Indian Army in 2019. She was also an NCC cadet and went through a rigorous training period to serve as a doctor in the special forces. In fact, on the way, she also experienced many failures. She received training to deal with crisis situations and had also served in Turkey’s earthquake-hit areas as part of Operation Dost. Captain Deeksha completed her training and received the position of Medical Doctor in the Parachute Regiment Batallion, as per the news.

But this position did not come to Captain Deeksha easily. She failed twice in her attempts to join the special forces and she continued working in the 303 Field Hospital In Leh as her first level of the course. In fact, during her second attempt, she also injured herself and that reduced her chances even more of being accepted into the special forces. However, Captain Deeksha’s commanding officer kept encouraging her on every level to not stop trying and eventually, she did succeed.

She has definitely paved a way for other women who dream to join the special forces and has shown that it is no longer an impossible dream to achieve. One just has to be strong in the face of all the adversities that comes with this job!
