DCW Chief Swati Maliwal spoke about how everyone in the media reacted when she was given this post. “The media had a field day,” she said. She further said, “There were so many questions raised, and one of the biggest questions was how could a 30-year-old woman head the DCW?'” Maliwal also added that she shut everyone’s mouths with her work ethics, and her way of handling things.

Swati Maliwal also highlighted how lightly everyone took the Delhi Commission For Women. She said, “A lot of people asked what am I going to achieve with this post.” She also opened up about how tight the budget was initially. She said, “In the beginning, the budget was Rs three crores, and today, it come up to Rs 30 crores which is the result of the passion of my team and also the help given by the Delhi government.”
