Little Girl Giving A High Five To A Priest Goes Viral. Bless Her, This Is The Level Of Cool I Aspire To Be!
It’s hard to be casual about religion and Gods in India. If you’ve seen the Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal starrer Oh My God, or well, Indian Twitter currently, you’ll know that we take all this very seriously. Belonging to a Brahmin family also means adhering to a lot of customs and rituals without questioning what they are for or what they mean. I also think it’s mostly because our parents too have no clue because they just blindly did what their parents asked them to do. The coolest thing I’ve ever done in this context is make Game Of Thrones and Gully Boy themed invites for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at home. But this little girl just out-cooled everyone by doing something rather unexpected. She high-fived a priest! Yep like a legit high five! Naturally, the munchkin’s video has gone viral!
No clear idea from where the video originated; it has been posted on Reddit and Twitter. And everywhere, it has made people smile and reply with some version of “Awwww!” in the comments! The little girl, from her outfit, looks like she was at her baptism. The priest raised his hand to bless the girl but instead of taking the blessing, she gave him a high five! The priest was clearly not prepared for this, but the innocent gesture made him crack up too!
Father is saying a blessing.
The innocence of a child.
They’re trying not to laugh.
Best thing you’ll see today… pic.twitter.com/8ueI8JLhnf

Isn’t that the sweetest thing you’ve seen today? Girl, you so cool! Imagine growing up and finding out you’ve peaked in coolness at such a young age and you’re gonna have to really do something major to top that! No pressure, though.
The video has gone viral across social media platforms, and here are some of the funniest, most adorable reactions from people.
That was adorable. I really thought the priest was gonna lose it and start laughing. 😆

Many of them even shared their own funny baptism stories or about that one time someone did something equally hilarious at church.
I urinated on the priest when I was being baptized.

I went to a very small catholic school and for the pastor’s bday we had to draw him as god see’s him- most kids drew him in church or doing something happy – my best friend drew him buck naked because that is how god sees everyone- they put it way up high so no one could see it

There were a few people who pointed out that the priest should’ve worn a mask.
Kid is adorable, but Father should be wearing a mask.

Which makes me sigh long and loud because this grey cloud of virus threat is always hanging above us. Like, God, let’s get this over with na? Why you want to call good peeps up to high five you in person?
Anyhoo, the cool quotient of this little kid has just made our day, so bless her!
Moral of the story: To quote this tweet, never leave a priest hangin’!
