Twitter Users’ Unacceptable Hate Against Plus-Size Models Is Proof Of Why We Need Lessons On Body Shaming
This is bad!

Last evening, I was scrolling through a shopping site, where I came across many dresses which had plus-sized models flaunting them. And it feels great to see this much-needed inclusivity happening. But, well this is a slow process. The awareness and sensitivity towards plus-size models are still at a very nascent stage. I say this after seeing the comments under a Twitter user’s post where she has called out a website for not making a particular size model wear that dress. But the comment section under her tweet was flooded with body shaming statements on plus-size models, instead of actually understanding the whole point of the tweet. And trust me the hate is embarrassing and unbearable after a point.

A Twitter user by the name of Meg Elison posted a picture of plus-size tights from the website The Cozy Crew. She pointed out that instead of the woman stretching the pants with her hands, the company should have rather used a model who actually had the legging size. Clearly, the model looked very weird stretching out the leggings just to exhibit how they can properly fit plus-sized women too. Many Twitter users agreed with this opinion and posted some other pictures to talk about the same issue on other websites.

But what came out as the most shocking part here was that some users shamelessly started to make unbelievable comments about plus-sized models and women in general. One of the Twitter users mentioned that models are meant to be attractive and if any woman really fits into such a size, then she is not attractive. Well, even after relentless efforts on how it’s high time to not hold women to certain beauty standards, some people really do not understand it.
Well the point is models are supposed to be attractive. Any woman that fits in that is objectively not attractive.

There were many humiliating comments that will make you realise how people are absolutely insensitive towards women. There were jokes made about how the company might not have been able to afford the food bills of plus-sized women. No, this really is unacceptable and cannot be considered a joke certainly.
I think they could not afford food bill of a model who actually wears that size!!
Just kidding!

One of the users commented that there should be no plus size dresses and women should sew their own, rather loose weight too. Well, who asked for your opinion?
We should just stop making big clothes. Let the fatties sew their own and burn some calories in the process.

They did hire a "plus" model…
The real question is: when does plus become morbidly obese?
I guess "PLUS" (all caps) is code for "morbidly obese".
