Twitter User Says Man Threatening Wife With Pregnancy Is An ‘Inside Joke’ And Should Not Be Minded. Umm, Threats Re Romantic Now?
A man and woman’s bond is very different when they become a couple. There is an intimacy between them and it’s not just physical. There’s a mental intimacy, too. The conversations are personal, there are things that only the two of them know about each other and of course, the jokes are more internal. If you have ever hung out with a couple (you read that as if you ever third-wheeled a couple), you will feel that there are times when they are communicating with each other about things you don’t know about, and you sort of feel like an outsider with them. But all the internal jokes and all are cool until things don’t turn ‘threatening’ between them. And I use the word ‘threatening’ here because a Twitter user has pointed out that if a man ‘threatens’ his wife with pregnancy, then this should be considered an internal joke between them. *sigh* Twitter has become a wild place these days!
The Twitter user whose handle is @OlisaOsega tweeted about how threats are a part of the internal joke between a couple and that people are not supposed to be pressed about it. They further talked about how only people who are married will understand that those threats are not real. That wasn’t all. Their concluding line was that people who think such “jokes” are offensive are the ones lacking love in their lives.
The tweet read, “Threatening your wife with pregnancy and things like that is an in-house joke between couples. Normally, women laugh it off. People who are married or in a healthy relationship understand it’s only a joke. People who find such offensive are those who lack love in their lives.”

Many people on the Internet went ahead to point out how silly and shocking this tweet is.
If it's an in house joke, keep it in house! https://t.co/2H5uYIVkFa

While surprisingly, many other people came out in support of this tweet saying a joke between a couple is personal to them, and it is not necessary that other people should understand it.
Okay ohhhh…I’ve enough love and didn’t find it funny. People hv different temperament and that’s actually fine, not everyone has to catch the joke. https://t.co/qiqYij1cVt

E no pass like this.
When humans lack something, especially love, they hate to see others have it. https://t.co/R0eKoxYqlW— James Aládé Òní (@sir_J_T_O) November 3, 2022
I agree. I was shocked people took it so seriously. Ah! https://t.co/v1M8HvCb4r

This whole tweet is too problematic in itself. How can a woman claim that a man threatening another woman is to be considered a joke? So, by that logic, this man can physically harm his wife all in the name of some humour, and he should just be let off? And then this person audaciously went ahead to label this behaviour ‘healthy’. Excuse me, but this is toxic on so many levels! People in healthy relationships do not threaten their partners. Not even in humour. And if someone thinks this is a good idea of a joke, then please consider seeking therapy to sort yourself out.
