TIARA Report Says Deepika Padukone Most Trusted Celeb, Virat Anushka Most Attractive Couple. See Irony Here?
2020 has not been a nice year for everyone in general. But celebrities, ooooof, they’ve really gotten the rough end of the media attention these past couple of months, haven’t they? Bollywood celebs like Deepika Padukone and Alia Bhatt are probably still not off the hook with the whole nepotism, drug scandal and a bunch of other things. Cricketers like MS Dhoni are getting some flak for a rather unexpected reversal of fortunes on the IPL scoreboard. And someone decided to sass Anushka Sharma once again for Virat Kohli’s performance on the pitch. But… are you ready for this? According to the TIARA report by the Indian Institute of Human Brands (IIHB)that analyses celebrities as brands, Deepika Padukone has been voted the Most Trusted Celeb, Alia Bhatt as the Most Attractive Celeb and Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma as the Most Attractive Celeb Couple.

On Tuesday, the IIHB, led by adman Sandeep Goyal, released their TIARA Research report. It studies celebrity brands in India, across 64 attributes like their image, personality, popularity and so on. TIARA is an acronym which stands for some of the parameters on which the celebs are scored—Trust, Identify, Attractive, Respect and Appeal. The findings are based on a study conducted on a sample size of 60,000 people across 23 cities and various demographics. There are some 48 categories, from India’s Most Beautiful to Most Stylish, Most Sexy, Most Intelligent, Most Rich, and even Most Controversial. Some of the categories are a bit weird and feel redundant. I mean how do you determine who’s the Most Seductive or Most Cool? What is even the criteria for that! Anyhoo, here are some of the categories that bestow in the TIARA report that bestow a tiara upon celebrities in the film, television and sports industries.
Most Beautiful, Handsome, Attractive
Bow to the queen for she is the most beautiful, at least as per the TIARA on her head. Deepika Padukone tops this list, followed by Aishwarya Rai. In television, Divyanka Tripathi Dahiya tops the list, while in sports, it’s skipper Mithali Raj.
As for Most Handsome, skipper Virat Kohli is the choice of the nation, followed by Ranbir Kapoor in Bollywood, Sonu Nigam in television and Rohit Sharma in sports.
Alia Bhatt is the most attractive, and she beat Hrithik Roshan and her gym buddy Katrina Kaif to this!
Most Sexy
Desi girl Priyanka Chopra was voted the most sexy, followed by Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, Sai Siddharth Chandekar and Tamhankar, and Jemimah Rodrigues. No guesses again, the couple that got voted highest was DP and RS!

Most Progressive
You’d think this award was custom fit to Ayushmann Khurrana’s hands. But surprisingly Ginny Weds Sunny and Mirzapur’s Vikrant Massey topped this category, while Khurrana and Deepika Padukone followed suit. In sports, Jasprit Bumrah and Sania Mirza topped the list, while choreographer Dharmesh and Mouni Roy scored top for television.
Most Respected
If this were a question in KBC, we’d all be crorepatis right now! Shahenshah Amitabh Bachchan tops this list, followed by Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan (his only appearance on the list, I think), and yet again, Deepika Padukone. Geeta Kapoor aka Geeta Ma and A.R. Rahman are television’s most respected, while Dhoni and Mary Kom are sports’. DeepVeer make it to the top in the couples’ category.

Most Controversial
His “Main karke aaya” comment on Koffee With Karan might’ve landed Hardik Pandya on the top of this list! In fact, this list is one that I have the most faith in. Salman Khan and Kangana Ranaut score higher in Bollywood, while Karan Johar and Malaika Arora Khan get most votes in the television list. As for sports, it’s Sania Mirza (guess why!) and Virat Kohli. As for the most controversial couple, it’s Ranbir and Alia.

Most Humourous and Funny
I don’t know the difference exactly between the two, but here goes.
Mirzapur’s very own Kaleen Bhaiyya, Pankaj Tripathi, got voted most humourous and I am all on board for this one! He was followed by Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone, Kapil Sharma and Bharti Singh, and Yuzvendra Chahal and Poonam Yadav.
Varun Dhawan is the Student of the Year in this category, followed by his SOTY costar Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. Singh and wifey Deepika scored top in both humourous and funny categories. On television, it was Sunil Grover and Bharti Singh, while in sports, the votes went to Hardik Pandya and Poonam Yadav.

Most Tough
Ajay Devgn topping this category is only surprising because he beat Akshay Kumar to it! But our Rani Laxmibai, Kangana Ranaut also scored high on this one! On television, former Roadie Ranvijay Singh Sangha and actor Sai Tamhankar scored high, while in sports, it was all cricket with Virat Kohli and Deepti Sharma topping the list. Virushka once again topped the couple’s list for this one.

Most Down-To-Earth
Former Team India and current Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni was voted the most grounded celeb, followed by—no surprises there–Pankaj Tripathi, Deepika Padukone in Bollywood. In sports, Indian football captain Sunil Chhetri and Indian women’s national cricket captain Mithali Raj ranked top.
From the looks of it, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are hands down India’s favourite couple because they’ve been winning in almost all couple categories, upstaged only occasionally by Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. Anytime the category is about some serious attribute, like intelligence or prestige, the vote goes to Amitabh Bachchan. While the Most Authentic votes went to MS Dhoni, Big B, A.R. Rahman and Baichung Bhutia, the Most Good Value, again predictably, was topped by Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, A.R. Rahman, Rohit Sharma, Saina Nehwal, and DeepVeer.
Deepika Padukone, Mithali Raj, Virat Kohli and Virushka seem to be the best celeb brands in India, as per the TIARA report. Oh so, you’re saying all those hate comments and tweets for celebs are not exactly authentic, then? Ah, figures.
