Social media is a brutal world. It does damage that one cannot even imagine in their wildest dream. For a very very long time, we’ve all been talking about beauty standards in society that are as toxic as they can get. But all this is much worse when it comes to celebrities. We often hear people complaining about how celebs get cosmetic surgeries to look better and these celebs are called “plastic”. On the other hand, there’s a section of people who recommend ways in which a celeb could look better and more “perfect”. Double standards much? TBH, I’m not a fan of plastic surgery but I don’t blame, shame or look down upon people who get it done. Their body, face and choice are none of my business or anyone else’s for that matter. Having said that, people on social media often take liberties with celebs. Recently, a surgeon on TikTok made a how and what she would do to make Stranger Things star Natalia Dyer look “perfect” and we’re just as enraged as Twitter.
A Twitter user shared a TikTok video of a surgeon by the name of Miranda Wilson explaining what cosmetic procedures she would recommend to Natalia Dyer to make her look better and she went on to photoshop the actress’ face to show how she would look post the procedures. Sharing the video, the Twitter user said that she could never be a celebrity because if anyone made videos like this about her she would get violent. TBH, so would I!

This video is proof of what society wants every single woman to look like. I mean, excuse me but ever heard about uniqueness? Are we all supposed to look the same? Like copies of each other? And what makes this surgeon think that it’s okay to comment on someone’s looks? Lady, no one asked you for your opinion. Also, could you please quit being society’s watchdog for beauty standards? It’s 2022. That’s the last thing we need.
Twitter users were just as enraged and went on to attack the surgeon for making a video like that and editing Natalia Dyer’s picture to show her end result. While I’m not very comfortable with how Tweeple attacked the social media user, I’m not surprised either.

Several users pointed out that Natalia Dyer is extremely pretty and expressed their shock and displeasure that someone would want to change her looks. Twitter users also called the surgeon “sick” for photoshopping the actress’ face. And they do have a point. That’s really crossing the line to a new low.
I can't believe she effectively ruined the face of one of the most beautiful women ever

OMG Natalia’s face is PERFECTION as it is. All of the things she wanted to “fix” a.k.a ruin are what gives her face character. PLEASE NATALIA DON’T LISTEN TO THEM YOU’RE SO SO SO PRETTY

this opinion was so unsolicited. natalia dyer is most recognizable bc of her looks, not everyone wants to look like every copy & paste beauty standard out there. leave women alone for simply existing in their own skin 🙄 https://t.co/QP9eygbs65

Social media has done a lot of terrible things, and many are far worse, but popularising the pervasive idea that beauty means everyone having the exact same face is (imo) up there https://t.co/2t0Siqc0Vj

Horrific. 'Do we love it do we hate it?' and you've digitally manipulated someone's face to fit a fallacious template of "better". Sick https://t.co/AJNuRq9EsV

Well, TBH, what this surgeon on TikTok did is really a nasty thing to do and uncalled for. Can we please start accepting people the way they look instead of making everyone look the exact same? Also, I don’t think Natalia Dyer needs unsolicited advice from a plastic surgeon. No one, I mean, no one deserves this kind of brutal criticism about their looks.
