Financial independence for women is still considered to be a huge thing. As TBH, as women, it is not very easy to earn respect and position through work in this male-dominated society. Family responsibilities are also something that women have been burdened with and are expected to do even after working. However, some people lack this understanding of a woman’s life, but it is sad when a woman herself tries to demean the sex. Recently, a Pakistani woman on Linkedin commented on how female employees use “Family Emergencies” as an excuse to take leaves from work. This is coming from someone who is a career mentor and a woman. Irony!

The Pakistani woman made headlines after controversial statements about female employees. She was bashed on social media too and many people put some sense into her. The woman named Sofia Reza penned her very regressive thoughts on Linkedin. In this post, Reza criticised the female employees of Pakistan and taunted them for using “Family Emergencies” as an excuse for being unprofessional. In fact, Reza termed it an “Epidemic” that has no cure. She further urged women to not turn a blind eye towards it and also asked them to become better at committing to work.

Clearly, Sofia Reza forgot to consider many things while casually making such comments about Pakistani female employees, particularly. She forgot that women still have a fair share of struggle when it comes to getting work and achieving financial independence.  A huge chunk of society is still not supportive of it. Working culture is not inclusive to understand a woman’s where she needs to balance her family responsibilities and work too! Many social media users pointed out many things under her post and bashed her for making such an insensitive comment.
