Loved Dia Mirza’s Minimal Bridal Look? Here’s How She Got It

Two weeks ago, Dia Mirza got married to her beau Vaibhav Rekhi. It was a small daytime wedding, a beautiful ceremony which was solemnised by a woman priest, BTW. Dia wore a red Banarasi silk saree by Raw Mango and looked ethereal in minimal bridal makeup. Whoever saw the pictures on the social media were awed by the refreshingly gorgeous look Dia sported as a bride. Her hair and makeup especially, were perfect for summer brides or a day wedding all year round too. What we could make out from the wedding pictures, she wore strands of gajra in her hair, nude lippie, hint of blush and a tiny red bindi. However, the good news is that we don’t need to make guesses anymore as if we are trying to identify the ingredients by looking at a dish. We have got the recipe. Dia Mirza’s hair and makeup artist Shraddha Mishra recently shared some close-up snapshots of the bride and a short video of her getting ready for her wedding, on her social media.

Celebrity HMU artist Shraddha Mishra posted a BTS video where she is glamming up Dia into this understated yet stunning bride. She wrote in the caption, “One in a billion @diamirzaofficial Thankyou for trusting me on your big day. You are very special to me. I love you forever and ever. Wish you a lifetime of happiness.” In the video, she is working a traditional bun for her hair and neatly places the hair pins to make it stay in place. Then, she goes on to applying highlighter on her cheekbones and some nude eyeshadow on her lid. See the video here.

Dia opted for tousled hair and romantic waves instead of a neatly pulled back hair for the bun, which we think is a great option for brides going for a summer wedding this year. This looks more effortless and dreamy than the sleek bun and adds flair to your bridal hair. If the classic gajra isn’t your thing, you can go for summer blooms to add in your hair like hydrangeas, baby’s breath or roses, because well, it’s roses! They’re more weddingy! (read in Chandler’s voice). You can pick according to your wedding outfit and it’s colour. Dia’s makeup was pretty minimal which shimmer specks on her lids, glossy nude lips and a very fine flick that’s almost invisible to the naked eye. She did amplify the lashes, though with a couple coats of mascara and defined brows which completed the look for her.

If you are a bride who wants to keep things minimal, this is the perfect look for you. It’s dewy, simple and effortlessly beautiful. That cutesy bindi is my favourite, though. Summer brides, did you take notes?  Totally stealing the look for my daytime wedding, you know, whenever that happens!
