Book Lovers, Here Are 7 Ways To Celebrate Book Lovers Day, And Make The Reader In You Happy!

For an avid reader like me, every day is Book Lovers Day! But officially, August 9 is marked as Book Lovers Day. It is so thrilling to see the book-reading community increasing in number and having them mark their presence on social media through Bookstagram or Booktok! Written records dating back hundreds of years are proof that books have played a pivotal role in human civilisation. Books expand our windows of imagination, take us to foreign lands which do not exist in real life, and tell us stories of people who in some way or the other touch our lives too. So, on this special day, here’s a quick guide on how and why to celebrate Book Lovers Day!

Why celebrate Book Lovers Day?

To those asking this, I want to ask them in return what’s not to celebrate on this day? You celebrate books, and authors, and thank the Gods for giving us the ability to read these precious texts! This day is celebrated to encourage readers to read more, and to inspire non-readers to pick up books and show them what they are missing out on by not reading.

How to celebrate Book Lovers Day?

If you are a bibliophile and even if you are not, here’s how you can celebrate Book Lovers Day:

1. Non-readers, keep your phones away on this day, and make sure you pick up a book. You might feel the withdrawal symptoms first but you will have to resist and finish at least five chapters of the book you picked.
