Hailey Bieber Opens Up About Having A Stroke, Reveals She Had A Hole In Her Heart
Going through a life-threatening health condition can be life-altering. Now, I haven’t gone through anything like that (thank god for it) but I can only imagine how scary it could be. Recently, model Hailey Bieber was hospitalised after she experienced a mini-stroke caused by a blood clot in her brain. And now, the model, who is married to singer Justin Bieber, opened up about the incident along with the details of her health condition while revealing that she had to undergo heart surgery because she had a hole in her heart which is what led to the blood clot in her brain.
In a 12-minute long video posted on Instagram, the model recounted the incident and shared that it was a normal day and she was having breakfast with her husband when she began feeling numbness from her fingertips to her shoulder and started having trouble with her speech. Calling it the scariest moment of her life, Hailey Bieber revealed that her face also started drooping and she was unable to respond when Justin Bieber asked her if she was okay. Soon after, she was rushed to the emergency room but by then her symptoms had subsided and she scored zero when she was tested for a stroke. The model shared that the doctors at the hospital then did some scans and all the tests they could think of and found that she had suffered a small blood clot in her brain called a TIA but they were unable to find a source of the problem.

Speaking further Hailey Bieber shared that the doctors concluded that the cause behind the clot could be one of three things – she had started birth control pills but had migraine, she recently had Covid and she had travelled on a long flight from Paris and back in a really short amount of time and had slept through it all. The model said that after further investigation and testing at UCLA, it was found that she has a grade 5 PFO which is a hole in her heart due to which the blood clot had travelled from her heart to her brain. She shared that she had to undergo surgery for the PFO in her heart is now recuperating well. At the end of the video, the model also shared a note expressing gratitude for having access to good healthcare and family support.
