What To Watch This Week:  ‘She’ Season 2, ‘Nikamma’, ‘Halftime’, ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ And More

The weekend is just around the corner and as we gear up to welcome our weekend with much joy, it’s also the time to make all our plans to end the week with a bang. There are days when we just want to stay curled up in bed as we binge on series or films with a glass of wine in our hands or maybe with a cup of chai and samosas or pakodas as it pours outside! Having said that, no one wants to spend their time watching old things or rewatching when we have a variety of new content available at a click of a button. So, in order to make your lives easier, we’ve listed all the shows and films that are releasing this week to make your weekend plans smoother and hassle-free.

1. She Season 2 (Netflix)

The second season of this hit crime drama series headlined by Aditi Pohankar is all set to premiere on Netflix on June 17. It continues the story of Constable Bhumika Pardesi aka Bhumi as she continues to struggle between duty and pleasure as she goes back into the dark alleys of Mumbai for a final mission.

2. Evil Season 3 (Voot)

This psychological thriller series starring Katja Herbers, Mike Colter and Aasif Mandvi is back with a season 3. It continues the story of a female clinical psychologist who reluctantly teams up with a priest in training and a techie to investigate the unusual occurrences taking place in the Church. Evil Season 3 premiered on Voot Select on June 12.

3. Players (Voot)

This documentary-style comedic series is all set to release on Voot Select on June 16. The first 3 episodes of the series will premiere on June 16 followed by weekly episodes. The series explores the largest e-sport in the world, League of Legends, with a fictional team as they pursue their first championship.

4. Nikamma (Theatre)

Directed by Sabbir Khan and produced by Sabbir Khan Films and Sony Pictures India, this film starring Abhimanyu Dassani, Shirley Setia and Shilpa Shetty is a Hindi remake of the Telugu film Middle-Class Abbay. It will hit the theatres across India on June 17.

5. No Means No (Theatre)

This film is an Indo-Polish cross-genre film. Produced by G7 Films Poland and directed by Vikash Verma, the film stars Dhruv Verma, Gulshan Grover, Sharad Kapoor and Anna Guzik. It follows a man who falls in love with a Polish girl after going to Poland for a skiing championship but what follows is a thrilling courtroom drama that calls for justice. It hits the theatres on June 17.

6. Ittu si baat (Theatre)

Set in the backdrop of a small town in Varanasi, this film follows the story of a cricketer who falls in love with his childhood friend and the extra mile he goes for love. Starring Bhupendra Jadawat, Gayatri Bharadwaj, Farida Jalal, Neeraj Sood, Sonali Sachdev and Atul Shrivastava, this film is set to hit the big screens near us on June 17.

7. Halftime (Netflix)

This documentary follows the multifaceted career and the life of the global star Jennifer Lopez in the limelight. The documentary released on Netflix on June 14.

8. The Summer I Turned Pretty (Amazon Prime Video)

After the success of the show To All The Boys I Loved Before based on her book by the same name, Jenny Han’s novel The Summer I Turned Pretty has also been turned into a series. Starring Lola Tung, Christopher Briney, Jackie Chung and Gavin Casalegno among others, this drama series is all set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on June 17.

9. Lightyear (Theatre)

Produced by Pixar Animation Studios, Lightyear follows the story of a young astronaut Buzz Lightyear who embarks on an adventure with his commander and crew to find a way back home from a hostile planet. It’s all set to hit the theatres on June 17.

10. Godse (Theatre)

Written and directed by Gopiganesh Pattabhi and produced by C. Kalyan under the banner of CK Screens this film stars Satyadev Kancharana and Aishwarya Lekshmi. This Telugu action thriller film is Aishwarya’s Telugu debut. It hits the theatres on June 17.

11. Masoom (Disney+ Hotstar)

Directed by Mihir Desai, this psychological thriller stars Boman Irani, Samara Tijori, Manjari Fadnis, Veer Rajwant Singh, Upasana Singh and Manurishi Chaddha. This series is a remake of the 2018 Irish drama Blood. It is all set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on June 17.

12. Cha Cha Real Smooth (Apple TV+)

Starring Cooper Raiff and Dakota Johnson, this comedy-drama film is all set to premiere on Apple TV+ on June 17. It has been written, directed produced and co-edited by Cooper Raiff.

13. Bandon Mein Tha Dum (Voot)

This is a 4-part documentary series on the recently concluded India-Australia test series during which India made history by defeating the world no. 1 test side at their hallowed home turf of Gabba, a place where no a single test match has been lost in 32 years. It premieres on Voot Select on June 16.

14. Suzhal: The Vortex (Amazon Prime Video)

This Tamil-language web series created by Pushkar-Gayathri is all set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on June 17. Starring Kathir and Aishwarya Rajesh, this series will be released in over 30 languages via subtitles and it will be dubbed in multiple languages including Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Castilian Spanish, Latin Spanish, Arabic, and Turkish.

15. Salt City (Sony LIV)

Produced by Applause Entertainment and Sunshine Productions and directed by Rishabh Anupam Sahay, this show stars Piyush Mishra, Gauahar Khan, Divyenndu Sharma, Eisha Chopra, Jitin Gulati, Manish Anand, Pranay Pachauri and Monica Choudhary, among others. It will premiere on Song LIV on June 16.
